Clinical measurement of sagittal trunk curvatures: photographic angles versus rippstein plurimeter angles in healthy school children

چکیده
Methods Sixty-one asymptomatic children (31 girls, 30 boys) aged 7-9 years (mean 7.9 ±0.8) were assessed once by one observer for the sagittal curvatures of the trunk: thoracic kyphosis (TK), lumbar lordosis (LL) and sacral slope (SS) first with digital photography and with Rippstein plurimeter. Statistical analysis was performed using paired Student t-test, Wilcoxon matched-pairs and Pearson correlation coefficient.

Two-dimensional digital photography for child body posture evaluation: standardized technique, reliable parameters and normative data for age 7-10 years
Background Digital photogrammetry provides measurements of body angles or distances which allow for quantitative posture assessment with or without the use of external markers. It is becoming an increasingly popular tool for the assessment of the musculoskeletal system. The aim of this paper is to present a structured method for the analysis of posture and its changes using a standardized digit...
متن کاملSelf-correction of posture: assessment of the quality of the movement accomplished by non-instructed school children
Material and methods 126 primary school pupils, 60 girls and 66 boys, aged 7.0 to 13.0 years (9.1±1.6), were examined in standing position twice: in a relaxed posture and in actively corrected posture (after the “straight the back” command). Children were not instructed what corrected posture means. Spinous processes of C7, Th6, Th12 and S1 were clinically identified. Sagittal clinical angles: ...

INTRODUCTION Sedentary lifestyle and its consequences are becoming a serious problem not only among the elderly but also relate to children. Reduced muscle mass, disorder of normal spinal curves or problems related to the percentage of body fat are part of physical activity limitation. The aim of this study was to assess the relationship between somatic type of the body and spinal curvatures in...

Background :Soft tissue profile can be widely different in various populations. Furthermore, this profile can be also continues to change throughout life. However, there are few studies that quantitatively evaluate the soft tissue profile in Iranian population. In order to determine normal reference values of facial parts in our populations, we aimed to measure standards for facial soft tissu...

Background: Static and dynamic postures of lumbopelvic in low back pain (LBP) are considered as two importantaspects of clinical assessment and management of LBP. Thus, the focus of the current study was to compare theposture and compensatory strategy of hip and lumbar region during trunk flexion between LBP subgroupsand healthsubjects. LBP cases are subdivided into active extension pattern (AE...
